Collaborative Project: Marketing for Interactive Media Web Development
This collaborative initiative involved six team members working with our client, Linda and the Durham College
marketing team, to create a full-fledged marketing campaign for the Interactive Media Web Development
program. This campaign included video storytelling, social media strategy, branding material, and creative
assets aimed at future students and industry professionals.
Project Background
The marketing department at Durham College sought to promote the Interactive Media Web Development program in
a compelling, authentic, and student-led manner. With a team of six diverse designers and developers, we
took on the challenge to showcase the unique value of the program by highlighting real experiences and
success stories.
Objectives
Produce a marketing campaign that resonates with both prospective students and parents
Showcase the real-world impact and learning outcomes of the program
Create engaging content for use across Durham College’s digital platforms
Marketing Video
We developed a short documentary-style promo video featuring:
An interview with Professor Raymond Gubala who shared program philosophy and innovation
Testimonials from a current student and a successful alumna
My Role in the Project
As a core member of the marketing team, I led several initiatives to bring the campaign to life:
Social Media Strategy: I created a detailed calendar to schedule our posts for
Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, aligning content with key academic and industry moments.
Content Creation: I designed both static and animated social media posts that
highlighted the program's features, using Adobe Illustrator and After Effects.
Faculty Photoshoot: I led the photoshoot for Professor Raymond Gubala, conducted
editing and retouching, and produced the final "Meet the Faculty" campaign assets.
Waterfront Trail Poster: Designed a featured poster that demonstrated how students
collaborated on enhancing the Waterfront Trail App — integrating UX and development improvements.
Final Post Review: I was also responsible for finalizing and polishing team-designed
posts to ensure visual consistency and message clarity before release.

Meet the Faculty Poster
To bring a personal and authentic touch to the campaign, I organized and conducted a professional photoshoot
for Professor Raymond Gubala, the lead faculty member of the program. The aim was to capture his
approachable personality and leadership role in a way that resonates with future students. I used a Canon
DSLR to shoot in a controlled environment with natural and studio lighting setups.
Post-production included careful retouching, color correction, and background refinement in Adobe Photoshop
to align with the campaign’s visual identity. The final deliverable was a “Meet the Faculty” social media
poster that introduced Professor Gubala to prospective students and humanized the program by showcasing the
people behind it.
